Trade-finance bankers must become geopolitical-issue translators for their stakeholders, Florian Witt, Head of Corporate Banking for ODDO BHF, tells Aerial View at #Sibos. He thinks that as time goes on trade finance will be even more exposed to geopolitical issues. Trade-finance bankers may need to be able to convince stakeholders to support client trade into markets and countries that could be controversial in their banks’ home country, he adds.
